  • Vatepuli as it is called in my mother tongue Tulu, is also called as Vatehuli in Kannada or Monkey jackfruit in English. It is known for its medicinal benefits. With its unique sweet and sour taste, it serves as a very good replacement to tamarind in the food preparation, thus bringing in the required medicinal benefits. It is traditionally included in the meal preparation to be served for lactating mothers as it facilitates in increasing the milk production.
